Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel, and jazz into the style that is his own. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician, singing and playing at the church in town. She was a student at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You a House 12, came out only in Japan. It's been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live shows. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) offered her the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2008 inauguration.
